PROJECT X.A.R.A. · IN DEVELOPMENT

We build the platform.
Together, we take robotics further.

We’re developing a modular robotics platform that gives a community of creators a foundation to build on—bringing new capabilities to XaraBots through downloadable skills.

Prototype development is underway. Public developer tools and a marketplace for free and paid skills are planned.

THE ROBOT & THE PLATFORM

Two control approaches. One broader vision.

We’re developing humanoid robots around a modular foundation. Our roadmap includes straightforward voice-command control and an AI-powered configuration designed for richer perception, interaction, and downloadable skills.

FIXED-COMMAND CONFIGURATION · PLANNED

Command Control

A focused configuration built around a fixed vocabulary of spoken commands and predefined movements—without an open-ended conversational AI system.

The goal: straightforward control for clearly defined actions.

AI-POWERED CONFIGURATION · IN DEVELOPMENT

AI Core

Our AI development path brings together speech, visual perception, contextual interaction, and supported robot actions, with a modular architecture designed for optional skills.

The goal: a capable robot whose role can expand as new skills become available.

Companion is a choice, not a requirement. It is the first skill we’re developing for public download, adding social behavior, personality, and familiarity to the AI configuration. The robot’s underlying capabilities remain part of Core.

SKILLS & DEVELOPERS

Build a skill. Take robotics further.

Companion is our first skill in development for public download—but the vision goes beyond what we build ourselves. Our planned developer ecosystem will give creators a way to contribute new skills, reach other XaraBot users, and earn from their work.

01 · CREATE

Build on the foundation.

Develop a useful behavior, specialized tool, or new workflow for compatible AI-powered XaraBots—building on the platform’s supported capabilities rather than starting from scratch.

02 · SUBMIT

Submit for approval.

Submit your skill for review before it can be distributed through the public marketplace. Developer guidelines and review requirements will be published as the program takes shape.

03 · DISTRIBUTE

Share it. Or sell it.

Once approved, offer your skill as a free download or a paid addition. Help others expand what their robots can do, while creating an opportunity to earn from something you built.

Planned ecosystem: Public developer tools, skill submissions, and the marketplace are not yet available. Individual skills will depend on the robot’s configuration and supported capabilities.

MEET COMPANION · IN DEVELOPMENT

A more personal way to interact.

We’re developing Companion as our first downloadable skill for AI-powered XaraBots—an optional social layer designed to make interactions feel more natural, personal, and familiar over time.

First skill in development. Public download planned.

Familiarity and relationships.

Beyond identifying a familiar face, the goal is to shape greetings and responses around known people, their relationships, and the situation.

Memory and continuity.

Designed to draw on relevant past interactions and preferences—so a conversation can build on what came before, rather than always starting over.

Personality and timing.

We’re working toward warmth, humor, and social initiative that fit the moment—not constant chatter or the same greeting on every encounter.

Optional by design. Recognition, speech, supported robot actions, and safety belong to Core. Companion adds social behavior without replacing that foundation. The features described here include development goals, not a claim that every behavior is complete.

CAPABILITIES & PROGRESS

Real progress. A clear direction.

A snapshot of our AI-powered prototype with Companion installed: what works in tested conditions, what we’re refining, and what comes next.

WORKING IN THE PROTOTYPE

The foundation is taking shape.

Listening and speech. Spoken input and synthesized responses for supported questions and requests.

Enrolled-person recognition. Face recognition and speaker verification using enrolled profiles.

Selected gestures. A controlled right-hand wave and yes/no head gestures—not general-purpose mobility.

Memory foundations. Persistent records of selected interactions and limited recall of earlier conversations.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Making interaction more natural.

Conversation and context. Expanding supported follow-ups and improving continuity between conversational turns.

Companion expression. Refining social responses, familiarity, personality, and appropriate timing.

System awareness. Improving how the robot explains its operational state, capabilities, and limitations.

PLANNED DEVELOPMENT

Extending perception and action.

Stereo depth sensing. Further calibration and validation of distance measurements before treating them as a supported capability.

Natural visual attention. Coordinating perception and head movement to follow the relevant person during interaction.

Broader movement and sensing. Additional motions, intelligent motion planning, and expanded touch and pressure sensing.

Development snapshot · September 2026. These are prototype capabilities, not finished-product specifications. Support depends on the configuration and installed skills; planned features have no announced release dates.

ABOUT XARABOT

The company. The project. The platform. The robot.

Closely connected, but not interchangeable. Here’s how the parts of XARABot fit together.

What does X.A.R.A. stand for?

X.A.R.A. stands for eXperimental Autonomous Reasoning Android.

eXperimental — Continuous testing, measurement, and improvement.

Autonomous — The long-term goal of increasingly independent operation within safety and authorization boundaries.

Reasoning — Using perception, memory, context, and policy to select and explain actions.

Android — The intended humanlike embodied robotic form.

X.A.R.A. Bot — the company

X.A.R.A. Bot is the company behind the development effort. Through Project X.A.R.A., it develops the platform and the robots built on it.

Project X.A.R.A. — the development initiative

Project X.A.R.A. is the ongoing research and development initiative behind the X.A.R.A. Platform and XaraBots. It is the work of developing and testing the technology—not a separate robot model.

X.A.R.A. Platform — the shared foundation

The X.A.R.A. Platform is the reusable hardware and software architecture developed through the project. Its AI architecture separates shared Core capabilities from optional skills, allowing different roles to build on the same foundation.

A XaraBot — an individual robot

A XaraBot is a robot built on the X.A.R.A. Platform. What it can do depends on its configuration and installed skills. An AI-powered XaraBot can run Core without Companion; adding Companion gives it a social layer, not its status as a XaraBot.
